NASHVILLE (Dec. 6, 2010) – Jesse and Noah Bellamy, sons of legendary country crooner David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers, haven’t strayed far from their family’s musical roots. The second-generation musicians recently released their Luna Chica Records’ debut album, Landfall. The brothers will debut the new video for their upcoming single, “Dirty With A Southern Drawl” on Dec. 7.

Appropriately releasing on Pearl Harbor Day, Jesse and Noah Bellamy offer a stunning new World War II-themed video featuring authentic props and vehicles from the 1940s. The video, filmed in retro-comic book style, pays tribute to the pop culture of the Greatest Generation and is set to Jesse and Noah’s country-rock homage to southern women: “Dirty With A Southern Drawl.”

Originally, Jesse and Noah traveled to Memphis, Tenn. in search of one of the video’s potential stars, the Memphis Belle, the WWII B-17F Flying Fortress made famous for its wartime heroics and pin-up nose art. However, the brothers quickly learned that the historic aircraft was no longer stationed in the city, forcing them to modify the casting and direction of the video. The brothers found appropriate substitutions with the Memphis Belle Burlesque troupe to provide pin-ups and the Mid-South Military museum to supply WWII props.

The video has already been deemed a bit too ‘risqué’ for mainstream pickup. However, Jesse and Noah feel that a viral hit isn’t out of reach, considering the elements of the video. ”The components of this video give it the potential to become a major viral hit,” said Jesse Bellamy. ”It’s beautifully directed by Memphis-based indie director Mike McCarthy, tells a really cool story, has some amazing visuals and is chock-full of sexy women. What more do we need?”

Noah adds, ”In an age where reality TV dominates music video networks, we are happy to release our video on YouTube and other similar sites as we believe they are becoming the launching pads for ‘the people’s’ music’.” Further, Noah explains that he has watched artists in other genres bring their careers to new plateaus by producing creative quality videos for online viewers.

Video synopsis:   April and Cookiee are WACs (Women’s Army Corps) during the final days or the war. April dreams up a plan to win the war for the Allies once and for all. She confides in her friend Cookiee, but soon makes a disturbing discovery involving the vicious Dragon-Lady. Meanwhile, Jesse and Noah are on patrol when they too make a shocking discovery – which could mean their doom.

(NASHVILLE – Nov. 5, 2010) Luna Chica Records International hosted a celebration in honor of Jesse and Noah Bellamy on Wednesday evening, Nov. 3, at their offices located in Nashville, Tenn. The event celebrated the country duo’s signing to the indie record label, the release of their latest album Landfall, and the completion of their edgy, new video for “Dirty With a Southern Drawl.”

There was a full house of guests to celebrate with Jesse and Noah Bellamy. Music industry attendees included radio personalities and promoters, booking agents, publicists, and managers. Other friends and special guests of the duo were also present, including the director of the new video, Mike McCarthy.

“We appreciate being able to celebrate with the team at Luna Chica Records and music industry friends,” said Noah Bellamy. “Since we’ve been signed at LCR, we’ve been given creative freedom as artists that we wouldn’t get at a major label.”

Guests attending the Jesse and Noah celebration were treated to a special preview of the “Dirty With a Southern Drawl” video, which is scheduled to be released through a variety of media outlets later this month. The duo also performed an acoustic set of several songs from Landfall, which showcases both “Dirty With a Southern Drawl” and their current single, “First Call After Last Call.”

“It was exciting to play for everyone and share the new video for the first time alongside our director, Mike McCarthy.” said Jesse. “We have been longtime fans of his work and were very happy when everyone cheered after the video ended!”

Jesse and Noah’s “First Call” is a jumper

Hailed a “Record to Watch” by the Texas Radio Regional Reports, even before the song jumped thirty-nine spots on the chart this week, “First Call After Last Call” jumps higher than expected. Performed, written, recorded, and engineered by Jesse and Noah Bellamy, the sons of legendary songwriter/performer David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers, this song reflects the truly original sound of this duo.

The song, written by Jesse Bellamy and Danny Simpson (who has also written songs for heavyweight country stars such as Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, and Rodney Adkins), waltzes listeners through the night of the life of a “part-time rocker in the bar up the street” playing for tips who just can’t wait to get home after last call. In this case a wife is the “first call after last call” but the song challenges listeners to think of whom they will call after a long night of honky-tonking or a long day at work in the singer’s case.

“First Call After Last Call” is from the album, Landfall, expected to be released in early fall. No strangers to the Texas music scene, this is the third song for the duo on the Texas Music Charts. Their songs “Wild and Willin’ and “Daddy’s Got a Shotgun” from their Nowhere Revisited album were top 20 hits.

Something’s Rockin’ in Denmark

Countrykanalen FM 105,9 (a Danish country radio station) has picked up on an album track from Jesse and Noah’s Nowhere Revisited album. Spirit Road features Southwestern American imagery over an orchestra of guitars. Countrykanalen has been spinning the song along side classic records by the Everly Brothers and Texas great Billy Joe Shaver. Jesse and Noah are no strangers to Denmark, having been awarded a Danish gold record in ’07 for Wenche Hartmann’s rendition of a Jesse Bellamy penned tune You’re The World.
